Almondbury: All Hallows' Church II: The ceiling

This oak ceiling at Almondbury was erected as part of a programme of rebuilding in the early 16th century. An inscription gives its date as 1522. The work was commissioned by the Kayes a local wealthy family. It is similar to other ceilings of the period to be seen at Rothwell and North Featherstone.
