This material has been written and compiled by the West Yorkshire Archaeology Service (Advisory Service), the holders of the Sites and Monuments Record. The primary intention is to make available for teachers in West Yorkshire locally relevant material on the Tudors, which, it is hoped, they can incorporate into their lessons. We would encourage teachers to download and print anything they may find useful.

West Yorkshire Archaeology Service has a full-time Education and Information Officer, Dave Weldrake, who can provide artefact handling sessions, guided walks, and talks relevant to the National Curriculum. It may also be possible to involve schoolchildren in practical archaeological work.

All Archaeology Service education activities are free of charge to schools in West Yorkshire. For full details or to book a session, please contact Dave on dweldrake@wyjs.org.uk

If you have any comments on this material, or suggestions on how else the Archaeology Service can aid teachers in West Yorkshire, we would be very glad to hear from you.
